The Indigenous Fashion Projects’ Advisory Board was appointed by the DAAF Foundation Board in 2022 to support and guide the purpose and strategy of the IFP program. The IFP Advisory Board is made up of the following members:

Chad Creighton

Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia & DAAFF Board Member.

Chad Creighton is a Bardi and Nyul Nyul man from the Kimberley region of WA. Born in Broome he lived in the township and surrounding communities for most of his life.

Chad is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub of Western Australia based in Perth. He studied Fine Art at the University of Western Australia and Heritage Studies at Curtin University. Chad has a diversity of knowledge and experience working in the arts, heritage and native title.

His work experience includes, curatorial experience within a state gallery, development of major art projects, coordinating heritage and environmental activities, community based consultation for development projects and managing native title services in the West Kimberley.

He is currently a member of the City of Perth Cultural Advisory Committee, WA Museum Aboriginal Advisory Committee and Revealed Advisory Committee.

Patricia Adjei

First Nations Arts and Culture Director at the Australia Council for the Arts

Patricia is a Wuthathi, Mabuiag Islander and Ghanaian woman from Warrane/ Sydney and strong advocate, strategist, presenter and writer. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Law from UNSW and is the Head of First Nations arts and culture at the Australia Council for the Arts. Patricia previously was the Indigenous engagement manager at the Copyright Agency l Viscopy. She is also a 2018 Churchill fellowship recipient, investigating the practical application of laws in the USA and Panama that protect Indigenous cultural rights.

 Patricia has worked on developing the Protocols for using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the Arts. Patricia has served on the City of Sydney, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander advisory panel and has been a Board member of the Contemporary Pacific Arts Festival and the Moogahlin Performing Arts Board. She is currently on the Beyond Blue and Intrepid Travel RAP advisory committees and the Sunshine Coast arts advisory committee. 

In 2010, Patricia worked at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva as the 2010 Indigenous Intellectual Property Law Fellow. Trish also previously worked as a lawyer at the Arts Law Centre of Australia and National Indigenous TV. She is also a published author, having written several articles and a chapter on Indigenous cultural intellectual property rights.

Rhoda Roberts AO

Journalist, Broadcaster, Actor, Producer, Writer, Arts Advisor and Artistic Director

A Widjabul /Wia:bal woman from the Bundjalung territories, Rhoda is an experienced motivated and versatile arts executive, with a diverse range of international and national industry practice within commercial, community and non-profit organisations, festivals and events. The former Head Of First Nations Programming Sydney Opera House, Rhoda is currently the Curator: Parrtjima Festival, Alice Springs, Festival Director, Boomerang Dreaming Festival, the First Nations Creative Director for the Northern Rivers Performing Arts (NORPA), First Nations Consultant NIDA , The Elder in Residence SBS TV and she is the newly appointed Arts Ambassador and consultant for Voyages Indigenous Tourism.  

A practicing weaver, an actor/producer and director, she continues to work across the Creative industries and is a sought-after consultant, speaker and performer in theatre, film, television, and radio.

Shonae Hobson

Curator, Indigenous Art, National Gallery of Victoria

Shonae Hobson is a Southern Kaantju woman from Coen, Cape York Peninsula. She currently works as Curator of Indigenous Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). Hobson was the inaugural First Nations Curator at Bendigo Art Gallery where she curated Piinpi: Contemporary Indigenous Fashion (2020-21), Australia’s first major survey of contemporary Indigenous Australian fashion to be undertaken both nationally and internationally. Hobson works collaboratively with communities and artists to foster and build capacity for economic and social independence.
