Here’s your look at the stunning collections from Show 2 at Country to Couture, 2022!
The annual showcase of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander fashion and textile design returned for its 7th iteration on the 2 August, alongside the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and National Indigenous Fashion Awards on Larrakia Country. This year was bigger than ever, with not one but TWO sold out runway shows, together sharing 16 collections from Indigenous artists and designers.
With Creative Direction from Shilo McNamee, Show 2 continued from Show 1, on a journey across Country set to the colours of Dusk, with a Welcome to Larrakia Country from Robert Mills. Brought together with styling by Perina Drummond, Hair and Makeup by NK Darwin, musical stylings from James Mangohig, and performances from the amazing Melanie Munungurr and Caiti Baker.
Country to Couture is proudly brought to you by the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAFF) as part of the Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP), and is supported by the Northern Territory Government, and the iconic Australian lifestyle brand Country Road, with thanks to Darwin Festival and media partner Mamamia!
